Baby Steps to Leaps and Bounds - The Retina

How will I perceive the world today?

Several years ago I was the administrator for a large Ophthalmic Retina practice in Illinois. During my career as a medical practice administrator this position was by far the most challenging; yet was the most rewarding. The lessons I walked away with were numerous.

The principle owner/physician of this practice was a wonderful teacher and I hold my interactions with him in the highest of regard. Prior to purchasing this practice he had spent his career in academia. It seemed to me that his approach to EVERYthing was from the perspective of Teacher/Student. Each and every day that I had the privilege of working for and with this physician was an intense learning experience. I am eternally grateful for those lessons.

I have to ask myself, why after so many years have passed am I compelled to write about my Retina experiences today? I guess it is because the word Retina has come to play in my world for the past several weeks. As I have tried to explain before, I am lead to these writings by my life’s synchronicities and/or little nudges from my Source. I can give you a long list of how I was lead to writing today, but I will only mention a few.

First nudge was, while attending a social event I was approached by a patient of this practice who had in the past gone through multiple surgeries. Unfortunately they were all emergency situations (typical of Retina). He was beaming with gratitude and praise for how he had felt cared for during that time. He was telling the group standing around us that “seeing” my smiling face at one of the most frightening times of his life was unforgettable. It is hard to describe how humbling that was. He was thanking me for doing my job!

Second, 2 weeks ago on March 14th I participated in teleclass given by Jillian Fleer titled "Inside Insights on Love", where she mentions the Retina. On that same day an acquaintance posted a picture on Instagram and described what had lead up to his emergency surgery for a detached Retina.

Then my husband came home last night and said, did I tell you that George (fake name) from work sees Dr. ______, from the Retina practice to get injections in his eyes.

I understand these coincidences to say that the Retina Angels want a little recognition.

Retina

The retina is a thin layer of tissue that lines the back of the eye on the inside. It is located near the optic nerve. The purpose of the retina is to receive light that the lens has focused, convert the light into neural signals, and send these signals on to the brain for visual recognition.

The retina processes light through a layer of photoreceptor cells. These are essentially light-sensitive cells, responsible for detecting qualities such as color and light-intensity. The retina processes the information gathered by the photoreceptor cells and sends this information to the brain via the optic nerve. Basically, the retina processes a picture from the focused light, and the brain is left to decide what the picture is. -healthline.com

All of these encounters, but especially the teleclass had me thinking about my days at the Retina practice and the lessons learned. Some of those lessons are:

  • That early and prompt intervention is crucial.

  • That someone can be bleeding or disconnected on the inside with no visible symptoms to an onlooker.

  • That the potential loss of vision or loss of the ability to detect light can rock a person to their core.

  • That the salvaging of even the slightest amount of light perception can make a world of difference and is worth the fight.

  • That the youngest of young and the oldest of old need to see the light.

  • That kindness and human connection can make a dark day seem brighter.

  • That perfectionism counts when it comes to imaging. Even if others cannot perceive it’s value.

  • And finally never ever, EVER say “baby steps” to a man who is passionate about changing the world in LEAPS AND BOUNDS.

Today, almost 10 years to the date from when I walked through the Retina Practice doors for the first time, I find myself speaking of light and light perception with a very different set of rules and definitions. I am going to go way out on a limb here and change the concept of our human anatomy. (It’s OK doctors, we are just make believing.)

Energy Light and Information is the foundation of Reconnective Healing. Through these frequencies we strengthen our internal receptors (internal retinas) and become more light sensitive cellular beings, so that we can detect the quality of the brilliance of God’s (Love, Source) light and then process and recognize through our heart these loving signals, which allows us to see and interpret the picture (image) of each other in this light; “I am able to see you with eyes of acceptance, perfection and magnificence”. Won't you take a moment to stand with me and perceive, while we are bathed in the Blinding Luminous Reflection of our Source (Love), who I call God.

The following is an excerpt from Ms. Fleers teleclass and subsequent discussion:

We have palpably seen the light of one another, structurally speaking. In order to receive the frequency of light in a meaningful way so that ’sight’ becomes functional it is necessary to have receptors in our retina. God’s design. Without those receptors the benefit of light frequency is useless to us in a real meaningful way. We access those receptors by opening our eyes. Have you ever been driving down the road and become almost blinded by the bright light reflecting off the windshields or chrome of other vehicles? The reason the light appeared so bright is because it was reflected in a focused way right into your eyes.

When we access the awareness of the heart’s frequency, literally, we are in the frequency of love, or what may be at the very core/functionality of human embodiment. As this human vessel we are able to reflect that frequency to those around us with much focus. –Jillian Fleer
